Fully Funded QUEX PhD Scholarship At University of Queensland

This prestigious scholarship is jointly offered by the University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, and the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, to support high-achieving PhD students working to solve global challenges through cutting-edge research.

Scholarship Overview

Scholarship type: Full tuition fee coverage
Stipend value: Living allowance of AUD $36,400 per annum (tax-free, 2025 rate)
Other supports: Travel and development allowance of AUD $18,000 for the duration of the program
Health insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership for international students

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

Meet the PhD admission requirements of both the University of Queensland and the University of Exeter
Be able to undertake full-time, on-campus study at either UQ (Australia) or Exeter (UK)
Be selected by the QUEX PhD Scholarship selection committee
Not already hold a PhD
Part-time study options are available for domestic students under special circumstances (e.g., caring responsibilities, health issues)

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed based on:

Academic excellence in previous degrees
Alignment of proposed research with QUEX Institute themes
Research potential and interest demonstrated through past experiences and/or publications
Motivation and commitment to undertake joint, international doctoral research
Quality of fit with proposed supervisor(s) at UQ and Exeter
Communication and collaboration skills essential for cross-institutional work
