UniSA Enterprise Research Scholarship (ERS) 2025

The Enterprise Research Scholarships (ERS) are prestigious awards funded by the University of South Australia and its partners, designed to attract outstanding international students based on academic merit and research potential. These scholarships provide comprehensive support for students pursuing a Master of Research or PhD at the University of South Australia.

Scholarship overview

• Scholarship Type: Full tuition fee waiver
• Stipend Value: A minimum of AUD 32,500 per annum
• Other Supports: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) 
• Study Level: Master of Research/PhD
• Study Course: Open to all research areas

• Duration: Up to 2 years for a Master of Research degree and up to 3 years for a PhD, with a possible extension to 4 years for PhD students.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be international students.
• For PhD Applicants:
  • Hold an Honours degree or a Bachelor's degree with Honours of at least class 2a standard in an appropriate discipline, or
  • Possess a relevant Master's degree, or
  • Satisfy the Dean of Research that their previous education, relevant professional experience, and published research work are of sufficient quality and relevance to prepare them for a research degree.
• For Master of Research Applicants:
  • Hold a relevant Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) of at least 3 years with a minimum credit average, or
  • Possess a relevant Master's degree, or
  • Satisfy the Dean of Research that their previous education, relevant professional experience, and published research work are of sufficient quality and relevance to prepare them for a research degree.

Selection Criteria

The selection process is merit-based, considering factors such as:

• Academic achievements in previous studies, including grades and class rankings.
• Research potential in the chosen field of study.
• Relevance of the chosen program to previously completed studies.
• Relevant professional experiences.
• Recommendations from previous referees.
• Demonstrated research skills through publications or other means.
