SCU Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship
Southern Cross University offers the Vice Chancellor’s Academic Excellence Scholarship to academically outstanding future international students across all fields of study. The key criteria are to exceed the academic and English entry requirements for the program and present oneself as an outstanding academic candidate.
Scholarship Overview

- Stipend Value: Up to $8,000 per year, applied as a fee reduction for the duration of the program

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants are expected to:
- Apply to study a full-time (8 units per year) undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree commencing in 2024 or 2025 at either the Gold Coast, Lismore, or Coffs Harbour campus.
- Exceed the minimum admission entry requirements of the University with consistently high academic performance. Assessment of academic excellence will be undertaken by the Southern Cross admissions team on application to Southern Cross University.
- Maintain a GPA of 5.5 or above and meet all other requirements of the program to retain scholarship eligibility.
- Meet the attendance requirements of their program and visa conditions to remain eligible for the scholarship.
- Not be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand citizens.
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria for this scholarship will be merit-based, considering factors such as:
- Achievements from previous study programs, including scores and ranks
- Relevance of the chosen program to previously studied programs
- Relevant professional experiences
- Recommendations from previous referees
- Research skills demonstrated through publications
How to Apply
Students' eligibility for scholarships will be assessed by the Southern Cross admissions team at the time of application to Southern Cross University. If you are successful, we will advise you in your Letter of Offer, along with the conditions of the Scholarship. Eligible students will only receive one of the scholarships available.
