About the positions
University of Adelaide PhD Scholarship in Musculoskeletal Biomechanics 2025
This scholarship opportunity is sponsored by the University of Adelaide to support outstanding research students in the field of musculoskeletal biomechanics. The scholarship is available to both domestic and international students who wish to pursue a full-time Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Adelaide.
The project will utilize advanced MRI sequences to study the morphology and composition of human joints in individuals participating in a social running program. Using a statistical shape and appearance model, researchers aim to understand how joint mechanics influence joint health, determining why some joints thrive while others degrade. This research is funded through an ARC Future Fellowship.
Successful applicants will join the Centre for Orthopaedic and Trauma Research at the University of Adelaide. Candidates should have experience with numerical methods and programming in Python/Matlab and be prepared to work with research volunteers.
