UWA's International Student Award 

The University of Western Australia (UWA) is offering the International Student Award to foster a diverse student community and enable students from select countries to achieve their academic and career goals. This award provides a tuition fee reduction for eligible undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The opportunity is open to international students from designated countries who intend to study full-time at UWA on an Australian student visa.

Scholarship overview

• Scholarship type: Partial tuition fee reduction
• Value:  Up to $20,000 for a 4-year program
• Study Level: Undergraduate or Postgraduate
• Study Course: Eligible courses listed in the UWA Handbook
• Citizen type: International students from select countries
• Number of positions: Approximately 100 awards available
• Duration: Up to the standard duration of the chosen course (e.g., 3-4 years)
• Deadline: 3 March 2025

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this award, applicants must:

• Be a citizen of one of the following countries:
  • Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, or Vietnam
• Apply to UWA as an international student and hold a valid Australian student visa.
• Be enrolled in an eligible full-time undergraduate or postgraduate course offered by UWA as listed in the UWA Handbook.

Selection Criteria 

This award is offered based on the following criteria:

• Citizenship and residency status (as per the eligible countries listed).
• Admission to an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course at UWA.
• Commitment to a full-time course load throughout the duration of the program.

How to Apply

To apply for the UWA International Student Award:

1. Submit an application for an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course through the UWA application portal.
2. Indicate your eligibility for the International Student Award during the application process.
3. Ensure all supporting documents, including proof of citizenship and academic transcripts, are uploaded to your application.
