About the Positions

CSU AgriTwins Scholarships 2025

The AgriTwins Scholarships, offered by the AICF Institute in collaboration with Charles Sturt University (CSU), provide a unique opportunity for outstanding domestic students to pursue a PhD or Master of Philosophy (MPhil). The scholarships aim to support advanced research in innovative agricultural technologies, focusing on cyber-secure emerging technologies and data-centric twin tech for resilient agriculture.

Up to 15 scholarships are available for the 2025 academic session, commencing in March. This program aligns with the CSIRO Next Generation Graduates Program (NGGP), promoting research excellence in agricultural resilience.

 Scholarships Overview

  • Scholarship type: PhD/Masters of Philosophy scholarships
  • Stipend value: $42,483 per annum
  • Tuition Fees: Fee exemption for domestic candidates
  • Operating Funds: Allowance to assist with research costs
  • Study Level: PhD/Masters of Philosophy
  • Study Course: Varying projects in agriculture and technology
  • Citizen type: Domestic students 
  • Number of positions: Up to 15
  • Duration: 3.5 years for PhD, 2 years for Masters by Philosophy

Eligibility Criteria 

To qualify for the AgriTwins Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Be a domestic student as defined by the Higher Education Support Act:
    • Australian citizen.
    • Australian permanent resident.
    • A person with unrestricted residency rights in Australia.
    • New Zealand citizen.
  2. Meet CSU’s standard eligibility for PhD/MPhil entry.
  3. Commence their studies in 2025.
  4. Conduct research on a full-time basis.

Selection Criteria 

Candidates will be selected based on:

  • Academic achievements in previous studies (e.g., GPA, honors).
  • Research potential and alignment with AgriTwins objectives.
  • Relevance of prior academic background to proposed research.
  • Relevant professional or research experience.
  • Recommendations from academic referees.
  • Research skills demonstrated through publications or presentations

How to Apply 

The application process involves two stages:

  1. Initial Expression of Interest (EOI):

    • Submit an EOI via the online form by 4 January 2025.
    • Respond to a specific project “pitch.”
  2. Formal Application:

    • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted in January 2025.
    • Apply for Charles Sturt University admission, selecting:
      • Scholarship option: “Yes.”
      • Type: “Full-time AGRTP” and “Other.”
      • Under “Other,” specify AgriTwins Scholarship Project.
