University of Sydney Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarships Scheme 2025

This prestigious scholarship, offered by the University of Sydney, is designed to support exceptional international students who demonstrate high academic achievement and wish to pursue a bachelor’s or coursework master’s degree at one of Australia's top universities.

The scholarship is open to new international students who have received an unconditional offer to study a CRICOS-registered coursework degree at the University of Sydney.

Scholarship Overview

  • Scholarship Type: Partial tuition fee support
  • Scholarship Value: Four funding tiers available:
    • $40,000 payable over one year in two equal installments per semester
    • $20,000 payable for one semester
    • $10,000 payable for one semester
    • $5,000 payable for one semester
  • Study Level: Undergraduate or Master’s coursework degree
  • Study Course: Open to all coursework programs that are CRICOS-registered
  • Citizen Type: International students
  • Number of Positions: Subject to available funding
  • Duration: Varies based on the scholarship tier (one semester or one year)
  • Deadlines
  • Round 1: Close date - 17 February 2025
  • Round 2: Close date - 31 March 2025
  • Round 3: Close date - 16 May 2025
  • Eligibility Criteria 

    To be eligible, applicants must:

    • Be an international student.
    • Have applied for but not yet commenced a CRICOS-registered bachelor’s or coursework master’s degree at the University of Sydney.
    • Receive an unconditional offer of admission by the relevant application deadline.

    Selection Criteria 

    The scholarship selection is merit-based and considers the following factors:

    • Academic Excellence: Rankings are based on the academic performance of the applicant in their previous studies.
    • Program Relevance: The alignment of the applicant’s previous qualifications with their intended field of study.
    • Diversity Goals: Some funding amounts may be limited to specific student cohorts.

    How to Apply

    No separate application is required. All eligible students who secure an unconditional offer of admission by the relevant deadlines will be automatically considered for the scholarship.
