The University of New South Wales (UNSW) HDR Scholarships 2025 aim to support outstanding domestic and international research students. These fully funded scholarships provide comprehensive financial assistance, including tuition fee waivers, living stipends, and additional benefits. Scholarships Overview
- Scholarship Type: Full tuition fee coverage
- Stipend Value:
- $50,291 per year (2024) for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Training Program
- $38,438 per year (2025) for Research Training Program (RTP), University Postgraduate Award (UPA), Research Training Program International (RTPI), and University International Postgraduate Award (UIPA)
- Other Supports:
- Supervisor top-up allowances for UNSW-CSC Scholarship recipients
- Living expenses support for Vietnam – Vingroup Scholarships and Australia Awards
- GOstralia! Research Scholarships provide $37,684 per year (2024)
- Study Level: Master’s by Research and Doctoral (PhD)
- Study Course: Open to all disciplines
- Citizen Type: Domestic and international students
- Number of Positions: Multiple
- Duration:
- Up to 2 years for Master’s by Research
- Up to 4 years for PhD

Eligibility Criteria

Selection Criteria
The selection process is merit-based, with consideration for:

- Research skills demonstrated through publications and other outputs.
