The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) President's Scholarship is a prestigious opportunity designed to support outstanding international students in pursuing higher degrees by research (MRes/PhD) at UTS. This fully-funded scholarship empowers recipients to focus entirely on their research by providing substantial financial assistance and additional benefits.

Scholarship Overview

  • Scholarship Type: Full tuition fee cover
  • Stipend Value: Tax-free living allowance of $37,000 per annum
  • Duration:
Up to 3.5 years for PhD candidates
Up to 2 years for Masters by Research (MRes) students
  • Health Insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students
  • Study Level: Masters/PhD by Research
  • Study Areas: Open to all fields of study at UTS
  • Citizen Type: International students

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be classified as an international student under the Higher Education Support Act 2003 (Cth).
  • Have full-time enrollment in a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program at UTS.
  • Maintain an approved OSHC policy for the duration of their study.
  • Ensure their research aligns with UTS's priority areas of research focus.
  • Be a first-time applicant for a postgraduate research degree (with no prior degree at the same or higher level).
  • Not hold another Australian Government-funded postgraduate research scholarship unless it was terminated within six months of the first payment.
  • Not be receiving other funding or income exceeding 75% of the UTSP stipend (excluding unrelated sources of income).
