Western Sydney University Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships

This scholarship opportunity is sponsored by Western Sydney University to recognize and support high-achieving international students commencing undergraduate programs in 2024. It aims to reward academic excellence and provide financial assistance to students pursuing their studies at one of Australia's leading institutions.

The scholarship is designed to ease the financial burden of tuition fees and motivate students to achieve academic success throughout their program of study.

Scholarship Overview

  • Scholarship Type: Tuition fee waiver
  • Tuition Fee Coverage: 50% of tuition fees per session for full-time enrollment
  • Duration: Up to three years (maximum)
  • Living and Other Costs: Not covered (students must fund living expenses, accommodation, transport, and Overseas Student Health Cover)
  • Study Level: Undergraduate
  • Study Course: Any CRICOS-registered undergraduate degree, excluding the Doctor of Medicine, Bachelor of Nursing, and Bachelor of Physiotherapy.
  • Citizen Type: International students only
  • Number of Positions: Limited
  • Deadline: Open until filled

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for the Western Sydney University Vice-Chancellor's Academic Excellence Undergraduate Scholarships, applicants must:

  1. Be an international student, not an Australian or New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.
  2. Commence a new program of study in 2024.
  3. Have received an offer of admission to Western Sydney University.
  4. Achieve a minimum ATAR of 90 or equivalent in completed higher secondary studies.
  5. Satisfy all admission requirements and accept their admission offer by the acceptance deadline.

Applicants are not eligible if they:

  • Are citizens of Australia or New Zealand, or hold permanent residency in Australia.
  • Are study abroad or exchange students.
  • Are currently enrolled at Western Sydney University and applying for an existing program of study.
  • Apply for advanced standing for their program before or after enrollment.
  • Submit applications for programs at Sydney City campus.
  • Have already been awarded another scholarship covering tuition fees.

Selection Criteria

Scholarship recipients will be selected based on:

  1. Academic Excellence: Achieving a minimum ATAR of 90 or equivalent.
  2. Eligibility Requirements: Meeting all admission and scholarship-specific criteria.
  3. Timeliness: Early acceptance of the scholarship offer.
