The University of Queensland (UQ) Research Scholarships provide financial support to outstanding domestic and international research students pursuing a higher degree by research (HDR). These scholarships aim to assist candidates with living costs and tuition fees while contributing to groundbreaking research in various fields.
The scholarships are open to candidates commencing their studies in Research Quarter (RQ) 3 or RQ4 of 2025. UQ is one of Australia's top-ranked universities, known for its strong research capabilities, excellent facilities, and global impact.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Have applied for and met the entry requirements for a graduate research degree at UQ.
- Be starting their research degree in RQ3 or RQ4 of 2025.
- Be a domestic applicant or an onshore international student who completed a program at UQ in Semester 1, 2025.
Eligible courses or study programs include all HDR Masters and PhD degrees at UQ.
Selection Criteria
The selection process is competitive and based on the following factors:
- Academic performance and evidence of research capability.
- The quality and potential of the proposed research project.
- The quality of the proposed research environment, including available resources.
- The expertise and track record of the advisory team.

- Under the 'Scholarship and Collaborative Study' section, select “I would like to be considered for a UQ scholarship to cover a living allowance stipend and tuition fee expenses.”

Additional Information
- Applicants with carer responsibilities, medical conditions, or disabilities that prevent full-time study may apply for part-time stipend scholarships, subject to approval.
