University of Newcastle (CSIRO) Engineering Scholarship
This scholarship opportunity, sponsored by the CSIRO, aims to address gender diversity and enhance leadership opportunities for women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) by supporting female students pursuing engineering degrees at the University of Newcastle. - Bachelor of Software Engineering (Honours)
The scholarship covers a four-year tenure for eligible programs, with a possible extension to five years for combined degrees from the eligible list.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be enrolled in the 1st year of an eligible engineering degree at the University of Newcastle.
- Be enrolled full-time.
- Have an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) of 75 or higher (or equivalent).
- Be female.
- Be an Australian citizen.
- Not concurrently hold another University of Newcastle donor-funded or sponsored scholarship.
Required Documentation
Applicants must provide:
- A personal statement (approximately 1 A4 page) detailing academic achievements, career aspirations, and how the scholarship would benefit them.
- A response to a free-text question on interest in future opportunities with the donor and/or industry partner.
- A current curriculum vitae (CV) or resume.
Selection Criteria
Selection is competitive, based on the following:
- Academic achievements.
- Interest in the relevant career sector.
- Leadership experience in the community.
- Participation in extracurricular activities.
