Western Australian Premier’s University Scholarship 2025

The Western Australian Premier’s University Scholarship is an initiative designed to attract high-achieving international students to study in Western Australia. The program provides financial support for talented students from specific countries, enabling them to study at one of Western Australia's five universities, enhancing both their academic and cultural experiences in Australia. The scholarship is open to students enrolled in any study area and at all levels of study.

This opportunity is available to international students planning to pursue either undergraduate or postgraduate degrees, beginning in Semester 1 or Semester 2 of 2025. Ten scholarships are awarded annually, with each of the five Western Australian universities hosting two scholarship recipients.

  • Scholarship value: $50,000 towards course fees and other university costs
  • Study level: All levels of study (Undergraduate and Postgraduate)
  • Study area: Open to all study areas
  • Eligible citizen types: International students

  • Participating universities: Western Australia’s five universities
  • Application deadline: 29 November 2024

Eligibility Criteria 

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Have received a letter of offer for a new enrolment as an onshore international student, undertaking full-time studies (minimum two years) at one of Western Australia's five universities, beginning in either Semester 1 or Semester 2, or starting after 1 January 2025 (for PhD students).
  2. Meet the visa requirements for studying in Australia and commence studies in Western Australia as an onshore international student in 2025.
  3. Be enrolling directly in an undergraduate or postgraduate program, excluding any packaged, foundation, or English language pathway programs.
  4. Be willing to forgo any other scholarships previously granted by the university, state, or commonwealth if selected for this scholarship.
  5. Apply as an international fee-paying student.
  6. Be a citizen of one of the following countries: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, China, Colombia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, the Philippines, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, the UAE, the UK, and Vietnam.

The selection process for this scholarship will consider:

  • Academic excellence and high-performance indicators from previous studies
  • Alignment with the goals of promoting international engagement and educational excellence in Western Australia
  • Additional achievements and recognitions, including leadership potential and relevant experiences

  1. Ensure that you meet all eligibility requirements and have received an offer for a full-time program at one of Western Australia's five universities.
  2. Complete the online application form provided by the Western Australian government or your chosen university’s scholarship portal by the closing date of 29 November 2024.
