Western Australian Premier’s University Scholarship 2025 At ECU

The Western Australian Premier's University Scholarship is a prestigious scholarship opportunity sponsored by the Western Australian Government. It aims to attract outstanding international students to undertake postgraduate research studies in Western Australia. This scholarship supports students financially by providing significant funding to cover tuition fees and other university-related expenses. Recipients will also be eligible for a 100% Edith Cowan University (ECU) tuition fee scholarship upon completing the WA Premier's University Scholarship.

This opportunity is designed for international students starting their postgraduate research journey in Semester 1, 2025, at one of Western Australia's leading institutions. Applicants must meet specific criteria to be eligible, including being citizens of specific countries and holding a new enrolment offer from an eligible university.

Scholarship Overview

• Scholarship type: One-off $50,000 scholarship to be used towards course fees and other university costs.
• Additional support: 100% ECU tuition fee scholarship for the remainder of the candidature after completion of the WA Premier's University Scholarship.
• Study Level: Postgraduate Research (Masters/PhD).
• Citizen type: International students.
• Application Deadline: Opens on 1 August 2024 and closes on 29 November 2024.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Have received a letter of offer for a new enrolment as an onshore international student, undertaking full-time studies in a postgraduate research course (minimum of two years), commencing in Semester 1, 2025.
• Meet the requirements to obtain an international student visa for study in Australia, with plans to arrive in the State of Western Australia to start their studies in 2025.
• Be starting studies directly in a postgraduate research program (not through a packaged, foundation, or English language pathway).
• Be willing to decline any other scholarships they may have previously been granted by the University, State, or Commonwealth if awarded this scholarship.
• Apply as an international fee-paying student.

Selection Criteria 

The selection process for this scholarship will be based on the following factors:

• Academic excellence demonstrated by previous study achievements (scores, ranks, etc.).
• Research potential in the chosen field of study.
• Relevance of the selected postgraduate program to prior academic or professional experiences.
• Recommendations from academic or professional referees.
• Demonstrated research skills through publications or relevant work.

How to Apply

Application for the Western Australian Premier’s University Scholarship is done through the ECU Online Scholarship Application Portal. The portal will be accessible during the application period, from 1 August 2024 to 29 November 2024. Applicants should prepare all required documentation before submitting their application through the portal.
