PhD Project on Genomic Tools Development for Pompano Aquaculture in Australia
This scholarship opportunity is offered through a collaborative project between the University of Queensland (UQ) and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO). The project focuses on developing Pompano as a new aquaculture species for the Australian fish farming industry by creating genomic tools such as a reference genome assembly, SNP genotyping platforms, and transcriptomic datasets. The student will work with the ARC Training Centre in Predictive Breeding, gaining hands-on experience with Pompano populations at the Bribie Island Research Facility.
