Macquarie University International Road to Research Scholarship 

Macquarie University offers the International Road to Research Scholarship to support outstanding research students from around the globe. This scholarship aims to empower aspiring researchers to elevate their academic and professional careers by providing them with the financial backing and resources needed to thrive in a world-class research environment.

This opportunity is open to both domestic and international students looking to pursue higher research degrees such as a Graduate Diploma of Research, Master of Research (MRes), or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at Macquarie University.

 Scholarship  Overview

• Scholarship Type: Tuition Fee Offset
• Stipend Value: Living allowance of $38,500 per year (full-time rate) 
• Top-Up Living Allowance: Additional funding on top of the base stipend for extra living expenses.
• Health Insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) and visa costs for international students.
• One-Off Payments: Lump sum payments to assist with research-related expenses such as equipment and travel.
• Study Level: Graduate Diploma of Research, Master of Research (MRes), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Bundle Programs (MRes + PhD).

Eligibility Criteria

How to Apply

New Applicants:

1. Complete the combined course and scholarship application via the Online Application System.
2. Arrange for two academic referee reports to be submitted to the Graduate Research Academy.
3. Indicate the scholarship reference number under the “Scholarship Details” section in the application form.

Existing Macquarie University Applicants:

1. Download the guidelines for submitting a “Scholarship Only” application.
2. Submit the Graduate Research Scholarship Only application form with all supporting documents.
3. Ensure you reference the scholarship number as required.
