• Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships funded by the Australian Government
• Deakin University Postgraduate Research (DUPR) Scholarships funded by Deakin University.

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

• Be enrolled in an HDR program at Deakin University or have applied for one.
• Have completed at least four years of tertiary education studies (for example, a Bachelor's degree with Honours or a Master's degree).
• Not be receiving another award or scholarship from the Commonwealth that offsets HDR fees.
• Not have income greater than 75% of the RTP or DUPRS stipend rate from other sources supporting general living expenses during the course of study.
• Achieve at least 80% or equivalent in the research component of their prior studies.
• Meet the Higher Degrees by Research (HDR) Admission, Selection, and Enrolment Procedure's minimum entry requirements.

Selection Criteria 

The selection process is merit-based and considers:

• Academic performance (previous scores, ranks, or grades)
• Research potential and relevance to the chosen study field
• Previous research achievements, including publications
• Professional experience related to the area of research
• Recommendations from referees

• Curriculum Vitae (CV)
• Academic transcripts
• Valid English test results (if applicable)
• Bachelor’s, Honours, or Master’s thesis/dissertation

How To Apply 

Interested and eligible applicants should follow these steps to apply for the Deakin University HDR Scholarship:

1. Expression of Interest (EoI): Submit an Expression of Interest (EoI) form at least four weeks before the scholarship deadline.
   • Step 1: Contact a potential supervisor to discuss the research project.
   • Step 2: Once the supervisor agrees to supervision, they will invite you to submit the EoI form.
   • Step 3: Complete sections 1-9 of the EoI form and send it to your supervisor.
   • Step 4: The supervisor will complete sections 10-13 and forward the form to the faculty's email.
2. Application Submission: Once the EoI process is complete, follow further instructions provided by the supervisor to submit your scholarship application
