Curtin University in Western Australia offers a wide range of international scholarships designed to support high-achieving students from around the world. These scholarships aim to reduce tuition fees for undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students commencing their studies at Curtin’s main campus in Perth. Some awards also extend to students transferring from Curtin’s global campuses, creating pathways that recognise academic merit, leadership potential, and community impact.

  • Scholarship type: Tuition fee reduction / tuition fee credit

  • Scholarship categories and value:

    • Curtin Global Merit Scholarship: 20% tuition fee reduction for the duration of the course

    • John Curtin Global Excellence Scholarship: 40% tuition fee reduction for the duration of the course

    • Curtin Global Talent Scholarship: AUD $10,000 tuition fee credit (one-off, for students transferring from Curtin global campuses)

    • Curtin Global Future Leaders Scholarship: AUD $10,000 tuition fee credit (one-off, for high-achieving students commencing at Curtin Perth)

    • Global Scholars Program Scholarship: AUD $15,000 tuition fee credit (for selected undergraduates under the Global Scholars Program)

    • Merit Scholarship: 25% tuition fee reduction in the first year (up to 200 credit points)

    • Alumni & Family Scholarship: 25% tuition fee reduction in the first year (up to 200 credit points)

  • Study Level: Undergraduate and Postgraduate (Coursework)

  • Study Course: Open to most courses (some exclusions apply, e.g. Medicine, Dentistry)

  • Citizen type: International, full-fee paying students (non-Australian citizens)

Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be international students (non-Australian citizens, full-fee paying, and not sponsored)

  • Meet Curtin University’s academic and English entry requirements for the chosen program

  • Be commencing studies at Curtin’s Western Australia campus (for most scholarships) or transferring from a Curtin global campus where applicable

  • Demonstrate strong academic performance in previous studies

  • For Alumni & Family Scholarships, applicants must be Curtin graduates themselves or have an immediate family member who is a Curtin alumnus

Selection Criteria 

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of:

  • Academic excellence and high achievement in previous studies

  • Course-weighted average scores or equivalent grading systems

  • Meeting program-specific entry and progression requirements

  • Additional considerations such as alumni/family connection or transfer status from Curtin’s global campuses

  • Commitment to maintaining full-time enrolment and satisfactory academic progress throughout the scholarship period

How to Apply 

  1. Apply for admission into an eligible Curtin undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program.

  2. Most scholarships are automatically considered  no separate application is required.

  3. Successful applicants will receive a scholarship offer letter alongside their course Letter of Offer.

  4. Provide any supporting documents if requested (academic transcripts, proof of alumni/family status, evidence of transfer).

  5. Accept the course and scholarship offer by the stated deadline and maintain conditions to retain the scholarship.
