Western Sydney University International Postgraduate Scholarships 2025
The International Postgraduate Scholarships at Western Sydney University (WSU) provide financial assistance to international students from diverse backgrounds who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in Australia. This scholarship is designed to support talented individuals, assisting them with tuition fee contributions for various CRICOS-registered postgraduate programs at WSU. All eligible international applicants will automatically be considered for this opportunity upon application to WSU’s eligible postgraduate programs.
Scholarship Overview
Scholarship Type: Partial tuition fee waiver
Value:
- Select Postgraduate Programs:
- Contribution of $6,000 per year towards tuition fees, available for up to two years for the following programs:
- Master of Teaching (Secondary) (Course Code: 1714)
- Master of Teaching (Early Childhood & Primary) (Course Code: 1773)
- Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) (Course Code: 1774)
- Master of Social Work (Qualifying) (Course Code: 1792)
- Master of Property Investment and Development (Course Code: 2813)
- Master of Business Analytics (Course Code: 2816)
- Master of Information and Communications Technology (Course Code: 3699)
- Other Postgraduate Programs (not listed above):
- $6,000 per year contribution for applicants meeting high academic standards, or
- $3,000 per year for applicants with moderate academic achievements
- Coverage: Tuition fees for full-time enrollment in postgraduate programs, up to two years
- Limitations: This scholarship does not cover living expenses, accommodation, transport, or Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
Study Level: Postgraduate coursework only
Duration: 1–2 years (depending on program length)
Student Type: International students only
Deadline: Open until scholarships are filled for each session
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be an international student and not hold Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
- Meet the academic eligibility for their chosen postgraduate program based on their most recently completed tertiary qualification.
- Satisfy all admission requirements and accept the WSU admission offer.
- Begin a new program in 2025 (first-time commencement only).
Ineligible Applicants:
- Australian/New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
- Study abroad or exchange students at WSU.
- Current WSU students applying for the same program.
- Applicants who defer their commencement or do not start as per their admission offer.
- Students enrolling in Sydney City campus programs, programs under one-year duration, or those with over 80 credit points of advanced standing.
- Students enrolled in a higher degree research program (e.g., PhD).
- Recipients of other scholarships covering full or partial tuition fees.
Eligible Programs:
- All CRICOS-registered postgraduate coursework degrees (minimum one year, maximum two years)
- Exclusions: Higher Degree Research degrees and Master of Research programs
Selection Criteria
Scholarships will be awarded based on academic merit and other admission factors, including:
- Prior academic performance
- Alignment of program with applicant’s previous study field and professional experience
How to Apply
No separate application is required. All international coursework applicants are automatically considered for the scholarship. If successful, the scholarship offer will be included in the Admission Offer letter. Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis; therefore, early acceptance is recommended to secure the award.
