Griffith University Australia Research Fellowship in Material Sciences 2025 

Griffith University offers a unique opportunity for passionate scientists to join the ARC Centre of Excellence for Green Electrochemical Transformation of Carbon Dioxide as a Research Fellow in Material Sciences. Based on the Gold Coast, this fellowship allows researchers to contribute to world-leading research, collaborate with experts, and support innovations in sustainability. This full-time, fixed-term position is ideal for candidates aiming to impact the global scientific community and foster advancements in electrocatalysis.

Fellowship Overview

• Scholarship Type: Fellowship with Competitive Salary
• Salary: $86,526 - $101,354 per annum + 17% superannuation (total package $101,236 - $118,585)

Eligibility Criteria 

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Hold a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Material Sciences.
• Demonstrate proficiency in advanced spectroscopy or electron microscopy for analyzing nanoparticles and porous materials.
• Experience in designing/operating reaction cells for in-situ or operando catalysis.
• (Desirable) Skills in computational modeling, such as DFT, molecular dynamics, or CFD.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Eligible Courses or Programs: Research must align with Material Sciences, particularly in sustainable electrocatalysis and CO₂ transformation.

Selection is merit-based, focusing on candidates with:

• Relevant academic achievements and experience in materials science or electrocatalysis
• Research potential and capability to advance the ARC Centre's objectives
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to a positive research culture
• Strong publication record in high-impact journals
• Demonstrated mentoring experience, supporting higher-degree research candidates
