Business and Management Excellence Scholarship University of Newcastle, Australia 2025
The Business and Management Excellence Scholarship has been established by the University of Newcastle to attract high-performing international students. This scholarship supports exceptional students who demonstrate strong academic merit and aims to provide financial incentives for continued achievement throughout their studies.
It is open to students who have received an offer to study in an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate program in business, management, and related disciplines. The scholarship is awarded to international students commencing their studies in Trimester 2, 2024, and beyond. A list of eligible programs is provided at the end of this post, along with application tips!

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:
- Be an international full-fee-paying student.
- Commence study in an eligible CRICOS-registered undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree at the University of Newcastle (refer to the eligible programs below).
- Not already be a beneficiary of another University scholarship unless prior approval has been granted for special dispensation.
- Demonstrate the financial capability to meet the full fee-paying obligations required by the Australian Government.

The following programs are eligible for the Business and Management Excellence Scholarship:
- Bachelor of Business (including combined programs)
- Bachelor of Commerce (including combined programs)
- Bachelor of Business Analytics
- Bachelor of Tourism, Hospitality, and Events (including combined programs)
- Graduate Certificate in Business Administration (if packaged with a Master's program)
- Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting (if packaged with a Master's program)
- Juris Doctor / Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice
- Master of Applied Finance
- Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance (if packaged with a Master's program)
- Master of Business Administration (including combined programs)
- Master of Business Administration (Global) (including combined programs)
- Master of Health Economics, Management, and Policy (including combined programs)
- Master of Professional Accounting (including the advanced program)
Selection Criteria
Selection for the scholarship is merit-based and considers the following:
- Academic excellence in prior study programs (e.g., scores, ranking, etc.)
- Potential for success in the chosen field of study
- Relevance of the selected course to previous academic background
- Professional achievements and work experience relevant to the course
- Recommendations from referees in the applicant's previous studies
- Demonstrated research or analytical skills, where applicable
How to Apply
- Application Process: No separate scholarship application is required. All eligible students who apply for an eligible program will be automatically considered for the scholarship.
- Required Documentation: Submit all required documents (as listed on the "Your Documents" page) through the application portal. Each document should be a PDF smaller than 5 MB.
- Application Deadline: Aligns with the program application deadline for the student’s start date.
