RMIT Vice Chancellor's Research Fellowships
The RMIT Vice Chancellor's Research Fellowships Program is designed to attract outstanding global research talent. The program offers researchers the opportunity to lead innovative, applied research projects with real-world impact across three priority areas: Regenerative Futures, MedTech Innovation, and Digital Innovation. Fellows will work in a collaborative environment, supported by RMIT’s state-of-the-art research facilities and interdisciplinary networks, to contribute to positive societal, economic, and environmental changes.
The fellowships are open to both local and international researchers, providing them with the opportunity to build long-term research careers and foster connections with industry and academic partners globally.
Fellowship Overview
- Contract Type: 3 or 5-year fixed-term, full-time positions
- Salary: Attractive salary with 17% superannuation
- Additional Support: Access to RMIT’s research facilities, mentoring, and researcher development programs
- Work Arrangements: Flexible working conditions
Fellowship recipients will also have the opportunity to develop new research areas, access international collaboration networks, and lead research teams.

- Fellowship Types: Available at academic levels A to E (covering different seniority levels)
- Eligibility: Open to all research disciplines, depending on alignment with RMIT’s priority areas
Eligibility Criteria
- Have applied for and met the entry requirements for a graduate research degree at RMIT University
- Be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at RMIT University
Eligible Countries: All nationalities are eligible for this scholarship
Eligible course or study program: Any program of your choice
Selection Criteria
Fellowship recipients will be selected based on:
- Research excellence and alignment with RMIT’s research priorities
- Ability to lead collaborative research projects
- Evidence of successful industry and academic collaborations
