Destination Australia Scholarship for International Students 2025 At UQ vu

The University of Queensland (UQ) is offering the prestigious Destination Australia Scholarship to international students interested in pursuing postgraduate coursework in agriculture, animal sciences, and related fields at UQ's Gatton campus. This scholarship, funded by the Australian Government, provides an excellent opportunity for students to explore regional Australia while advancing their academic and professional careers.

The scholarship is open to new international students and UQ alumni enrolling in a different postgraduate coursework program. It provides significant financial support for students who wish to study at UQ Gatton, offering the chance to engage with regional communities and benefit from academic and rural experiences.

Eligibility Criteria 
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be new students, including UQ alumni enrolling in a different program (such as a Master’s degree).
  • Have a full offer of admission to study an eligible postgraduate coursework program at UQ’s Gatton campus.
  • Commit to full-time study in the internal mode at Gatton campus.
  • Reside in a regional area of Australia as defined by the Australian Statistical Geography Standard Remoteness Structure 2016.

The selection process will be merit-based, focusing on the following:

  • Academic performance and achievements in previous studies.
  • Alignment of personal goals with the scholarship objectives, as demonstrated in a personal statement.
  • Potential for community engagement and rural experience.
  • UQ values diversity and inclusion, which may also be considered in the selection process.
