Australian Government Domestic Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarships
The Australian Government offers the Domestic Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarships to support research students at The University of Western Australia (UWA). This scholarship is available to domestic students undertaking Masters by Research or PhD programs at UWA. The program aims to assist students in covering their living costs while they pursue advanced research in their respective fields. The RTP Stipend Scholarship is tenable for up to two years for Masters by Research candidates and up to three and a half years for Doctoral candidates.

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the RTP Stipend Scholarship, applicants must:

- Be enrolled as a full-time, internal domestic student (unless approved otherwise by the University)
- Not be receiving income from another source that supports general living costs if the income is greater than 75% of the RTP stipend rate. Income unrelated to the course of study or income not meant to support general living costs will not be counted
- Meet any other eligibility criteria as outlined in the scholarship conditions
Selection Criteria
The selection criteria for the RTP Stipend Scholarships are merit-based, and applications will be assessed based on the following factors:
- Academic performance in previous studies
- Research potential in the proposed field of study
- Relevance of the applicant's chosen program to their prior academic background
- Relevant professional experiences, if applicable
- Recommendations from academic referees
