Deakin University Australia PhD Scholarship Opportunities For Women In Stem
Exciting PhD scholarship positions for female students "Women in STEAM"( Science, Technology, Engineering, Architecture and Maths) to study at Deakin University. This exciting PhD scholarship is open to women with strong research potential and passion in this interesting research area. To help promote this long awaiting change, Deakin University is offering multiple PhD scholarship positions to interested female to undertake a PhD and work on a research project supervised by at least one female academic.
These are competitive scholarship positions and are open to both domestic and international students (with priority to onshore international students due to Covid restrictions) to undertake research with an academic supervisory team in any discipline area across the Schools and Research Centres of the Faculty of Science, Engineering & Built Environment.

The Faculty consists of 4 schools, each with multiple disciplines( a mix of teaching + research) characterized with strong emphasis on research excellence. Scholarship Overview
- Scholarship Cover: Full tuition fee
- Research scholarship stipend value: $30,000 (tax-exempt) indexed annually
- Relocation allowance: $500-$1,500.
- Health cost : Overseas Student Health Cover(OSHC) for international students

Women in STEAM Scholarship Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, interested applicants must meet the following requirements:
- be either a domestic or international candidate(priority to onshore students)
- meet Deakin's PhD entry requirements
- be enrolling full time and hold an honours degree (first class) or an equivalent standard master's degree with a substantial research component.
- self-identify as women or as gender diverse or non-binary
- the proposed supervisory team must comprise at least one female supervisor.
Applications for these scholarships will be assessed based on :
- the prospective student academic merit and research potential,
- on the strategic merit and alignment with Faculty research directions of the proposed project and on the supervisory team.
How to apply
To apply, applicants are encouraged to first contact a potential supervisor, then submit an expression of interest (EoI) form( forms on the website). If the EoI is successfully, the applicant will then be invited to submit a full application. So this is the step:
