About the Scholarship

The ARC ITTC Composites for Sustainable Mining is a national research entity funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) and headquartered at the University of Wollongong (UOW). The Centre comprises seven Australian universities and eight local and international industry organisations. The key objective of the Centre is to provide innovative solutions to the current challenges and problems faced by the Mining Equipment, Technology and Service (METS) sectors.

Scholarship Details

The PhD scholarships are valued at $36,161 per annum (2023) for 3.5 years. The scholarships are available in the following study areas:

The scholarships are open to domestic and international students who have completed an Australian university recognised master's by research or bachelor honours degree with first-class or second-class/division 1 honours, or an equivalent or higher qualification.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must:

  •  Have completed an Australian university recognised master's by research or bachelor honours degree with first-class or second-class/division 1 honours, or an equivalent or higher qualification
  • Meet the English proficiency requirements for international students or local applicants with international qualifications set by the participating organisations

  • Meet the specific requirements of the academic supervisors
