Fully funded PhD Scholarship Opportunities in  Health Economics

Are you interested in rigorous graduate research training and want to make a substantial contribution to research in the economics of health and health care? then this fully funded PhD in health economics at the Centre for Health Economics at Monash University is for you. Monash University currently accepts applications for its multiple PhD scholarship positions in health economics. 

These scholarships are available to all eligible students to undertake studies in all areas of health economics at Monash University. The scholarship offers tuition fees and living allowance support of $30,000 per annum full-time rate, with top-up scholarships for the eligible applicants. Other financial supports are available via research and teaching assistants, along with opportunities for funded travel and study exchanges with partner institutions in Europe or USA.

The scholarships have two separate rounds each for international and domestic students
Internation students:
  • Round 1: EOI by 28 February, full applications by 31 March (Enrolment: Jul – Dec 2022)
  • Round 3: EOI by 31 July, full applications by 31 August (Enrolment: Jan – Jun 2023)
Domestic student rounds:
  • Round 2: EOI by 30 April, full applications by 31 May (Enrolment: March, Jul – Dec 2022)
  • Round 4: EOI by 30 September, full applications by 31 October (Enrolment: Jan – Jun 2023)

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this position, interested applicants are required to have a degree in economics, econometrics or a relevant discipline with a research component and strong academic results.

To apply for this scholarship, applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and a full application submission (by invitation, following notification of a successful EOI).
When submitting the EOI make sure to select “Health Economics” as your area of interest in the online EOI form as otherwise your EOL will not be received. In a three-step summary:
  1. Submit an Expression of interest(EOI)
  2. Wait for notification of a successful EOI
  3. If EOI was successful, you will be invited to submit a full application

  1. Your CV, including details of two referees
  2. A copy of your academic transcripts and details of grading scales
  3. Evidence of English language proficiency according to these guidelines
