Applications for Charles Darwin University Australian Government
Research Training Program(RTP) Stipend scholarships 2024/25 are
currently open. These are Australian Government-sponsored stipend
scholarships available via Charles Darwin University. These RTP
stipend scholarships aim to provide stipend living support to all eligible
international students interested to undertake full-time MSc or PhD by
research.
Applicants interested in full-tuition support should check the
Charles Darwin University Research Training Scheme (URTS) Fee
Offset scholarships. Charles Darwin University URTS Fee Offset scholarships aim to provide
full tuition support to high-achieving international applicants to
undertake research MSc or PhD in the University. International
students awarded an RTP Stipend are automatically awarded a URTS Fee Offset
scholarship. International candidates who are not awarded an Australian
Government RTP Stipend can however still apply for a URTS Fee Offset.
The RTP scholarships at Charles Darwin University are available within
any research field of study across the University. The scholarships are
awarded on a competitive basis and aim to attract international students
with outstanding research potential and academic achievements. The RTP
scholarships will provide a living stipend paid every fortnight, including
a paid sick leave, relocation allowance and maternity leave.

Eligibility criteria for CDU RTP scholarships
To be eligible for an RTP Stipend Scholarship, the
applicant:
-
must be an overseas student enrolled in an accredited HDR course of
study at an Australian Higher Education Provider (HEP).

must not be receiving income from another source to support
that student’s general living costs while undertaking their course of
study if that income is greater than 75% of that student’s RTP Stipend
rate.

must not be receiving an equivalent award or scholarship from
the Australian Government designed to offset HDR tuition fees
How to apply(No application fees)
To study at Charles Darwin University, prospective international HDR
candidates are required to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the HDR
team before being invited to apply for admission and scholarships.
The EOI must include the followings:

Expression of Interest (EOI) Application Form

Copies of academic transcripts and award certificates of your
post-secondary qualifications (ie. Bachelor and Master degree)

Curriculum vitae (CV) including details of publications
-
A brief research proposal (1500-1700 words or 3-4 pages) on the
research you would like to do, including details about specific
methodological techniques
Once submitted, the applicant's EOI will be reviewed and if deemed to meet
the minimum
course entry requirements, the applicant is invited to submit an application.
After receiving an invitation to apply, the next step is finding a
potential supervisor. The applicant will need to obtain the supervisor’s
confirmation in writing. A copy of email communications will be sufficient.
If successful in securing a potential supervisor, you can go ahead and
submit a completed online application. To be considered for the RTP
scholarship, the EOI must be submitted before the deadline( 12 APRIL, 2024). (*Submission via online comes with no application fee for all
international students)
