About the University of Queensland Graduate Scholarships (UQGSS)

The University of Queensland Graduate Scholarships (UQGSS) for the academic year 2025 will soon be open for application. To avoid last-minute rush, it's advisable to start preparing your documents early. The scholarship applications will be accepted from Monday, 1st April 2024. However, admissions into research degree programs are open throughout the year.
The UQGSS program is a prestigious scholarship award program offered by the University of Queensland to eligible international students who have achieved academic excellence and are interested in research opportunities in the institution. These fully-funded scholarships are available for Higher Degree Studies (MSc/PhD) and are open to all study areas.
Recipients of the UQGSS scholarship will be awarded either an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship or a UQ-funded scholarship via a competitive process. Both scholarships cover full tuition fees, a living allowance, and international student health coverage to study in Australia. Eligibility criteria for the UQGSS scholarships
Scholarships to study at the University of Queensland are very
competitive. To be eligible for the UQGSS scholarships, the applicant must
be;

be nominated by an enrolling school or institute at UQ

be assessed by the Graduate School as meeting all conditions for
admission to the higher degree by research program.

not be receiving a living allowance award, or scholarship providing
a benefit greater than 75% of the RTP Scholarship living allowance
rate to undertake the higher degree by research program.
