About Australia National University (ANU) Master of Philosophy Scholarship
Applications are open for ANU Master of Philosophy Scholarships. These scholarships are funded by the individual academic Colleges to attract high-quality international students to study at Australia National University. Successful applicants are expected to study full time as one of the eligibility criteria for this scholarship.

Scholarship overview and Benefits
- Scholarship stipend value: $28,854 per annum 2022 value, payments per fortnight
- Travel & removal allowance for students relocating to Canberra to commence their Master of Philosophy program: up to $530 per adult, and $262 per child with a maximum of $1,530 per family
- Dependent Child Allowance for International students. Up to $3,000 per annum for each dependent child
- Thesis Allowance: up to $420 for costs associated with the production of the MPhil thesis
- Tenure: The duration of a full-time Scholarship will be one year in the first instance or such a shorter period as is stated in the letter of offer (subject to 3.3).
- Application Deadline: Open all year round.
However, international applicants are required to apply for admission by 31 October 2022. It is an ongoing eligibility scholarship. Meaning continuation is based on academic performance.
Eligibility criteria for the scholarship
These scholarships are available to potential and current students who:
- are domestic or international students; and
- have applied for admission to a Master of Philosophy Research program at the ANU; and
- have a Bachelor degree with first-class Honours (some Colleges may consider applicants with upper second-class Honours), or a Master degree with a research component from a recognised University.
To be considered for this scholarship, the applicant must first apply for admission into a degree program. If you secure the admissions for one of the degree programs listed below, you are automatically considered for this scholarship.
How to apply.
There is no direct application for this scholarship. Eligible students into an ANU Master of Philosophy program will be automatically considered for this scholarship.
Tip. Therefore to apply, you must first submit an application for a degree program, and if accepted for admissions, you will be automatically considered for the scholarship. No need for an extra application.
To be considered for this scholarship, you must apply for admissions before 31 October 2022. Colleges will be offering these scholarships throughout the year.
